Special containment procedures: SCP-477 must be in the building with climate control, labelled as Area 44. The building was built using only metal and wood, no stone or concrete building materials. Externally it looks like a hangar for storage of equipment non-existent career, but in fact there are numerous laboratories, which are essential for learning and maintenance of SCP-477. Samples of sedimentary rocks or concrete items allowed to be taken out for limits of complex content, only after grinding and mixing with acidic clay slurry to dissolve the entire fossil material was found.
Individuals of SCP-477, appeared outside the Zone 44 must be immediately captured and returned to the complex, or destroyed by shredding and acid treatment of the substrate carrier.
Description: a Thin layer of Cambrian slate, covering an area of about 2 km2 on the plateau, Mongolia. Deposits rich in fossils preserved in water, collectively designated as SCP-477. These fossils are remarkable for both its diversity and the fact that they are able to move and imitate life, floating in the thick stone as if it was the ocean that they lived 520 million years ago.
Individuals of SCP-477 are able to move through all tested types of sedimentary rocks, with no visible resistance. In atomistic main threat to the successful maintenance, as the revived fossil escaped into another geological formation that is very difficult to catch (not eliminated, and reproduction of escaped, see the incident 477-01). They are unable to leave their stone habitats for the movement in an aqueous or gaseous medium and can’t pass through soil, sand, clay and other porous substrates. Continue reading
On the territory of the demolished hotel “Russia” found another old street, presumably of the XII century, according to the Institute of archaeology RAS.
During excavations in Zaryadye. where a unique landscape Park, scientists have discovered the oldest street of Moscow Posad – outside Great. It originated at a very early stage of development of the city – perhaps as early as the XII century.
According to Leonid Belyaev, head of the excavations, street led from the Kremlin to the Marina and is one of the oldest construction phase of the city in XII-XIII centuries.
During excavations, archaeologists found many ceramic items of the XV-XVII centuries and architectural details, carved stone 1490-1500, the fragment of a pilaster from the temple or Palace with rare ornamentation in the form of closely woven in a continuous carpet trehpryadnye bands.

The ancient city of Pompeii was founded in the 6th century BC If not for the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius, which burned the entire city to the ground, covering it with a huge layer of volcanic ash, Pompeii would still have existed near Naples. Now it is the ruins of which are UNESCO listed in the world heritage list.
The name of Pompeii had arisen after the merger of five independent cities (pumpe – five). This is a more plausible version. There is a legend that Hercules in a hard battle defeated the giant Geryon, and then solemnly walked through the city, celebrating the victory. With ancient Greek language pumpe – Grand, triumphal procession.
In those days people believed in God, and believed that the gods controlled earthly cataclysms. Despite the fact that on 5 February 62 ad, there was a severe earthquake, which could give rise to the eruption of the volcano, people still continued to live in the city, worship the gods, and believing that will never happen misfortune. Yet the volcano erupted. It happened on August 24 79 ad Suffered not only Pompeii but also the nearby towns Herculaneum, Stabiae. The eruption was so strong that the ashes reached even to the neighbouring States of Egypt and Syria. The city lived about 20 thousand people. Some managed to escape before the disaster, but many died. The exact number of victims is unknown, but the remains of the bodies were found far outside of the city.
Herodotus was under a layer of ashes for hundreds of years until in 1592 Domenico Fontana (well-known architect of that time) came across the city wall during the laying of the channel from the river Sarno. No one betrayed this wall is of great importance, and only after about 100 years in the ruins of Pompeii was found a plaque, with carved on it the inscription – “Pompeii”. Even after this incident no one could have imagined that this ancient city which disappeared from the face of the earth. Concluded that it is an old Villa of Pompey the Great. Continue reading
